Donald Trump to roll out a new social media platform

The former US President Donald Trump recently announced a plan to launch his new social media network. It will come up with the name TRUTH Social. He said that this platform would stand up against the tyranny of bigger techs. He has accused them of silencing the oppressive voices in the nation. Social media has played an important role in Mr. Trump’s bid for the White House.

He used social media as his favorite means of communication as a president. Twitter has banned him. Also, Facebook had him suspended as his supporters created havoc in the US capital. The social media firms went under pressure throughout his presidency to ban him. His posts have faced much criticism and insults.

Last year Twitter and Facebook started deleting some of his posts and labeled them misleading.

They decided to suspend or ban him after the January riots as he made a baseless claim for electoral fraud.

While responding to the riots, Mr. Trump has called at the capitol as the patriots. He has shown not a single sign to accept the results of the election. It made things much riskier for the social media site to let him continue.

Since then, he and his advisors have given hints about their planning of creating a rival social media site. Earlier this year, he was launched from the Desk of Donald Trump. It often gets referred to as a blog. The website faced a permanent shut down within less than a month as it attracted only a fraction of audiences than his actual expectations.

His senior aide Jason Miller has also said that it was more of an auxiliary to the broader efforts on which they are working now.

An early version of the TRUTH social will surface within the first three months of 2022.

“We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced,” wrote Mr. Trump.

“Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!” he added.

TMTG that he chairs are intending to launch a subscription service for video-on-demand. Many republicans shared his criticism. The Facebook data also shows that figures like Dan Bongino, Ben Shapiro appear as the sites which are top-performing. Mr. Trump is retaining a stronghold over the republican party. He has further hinted that he will be running again in 2024.
