COVID-19 Infections Move Past 13 Million, Deaths Spiking

The total number of COVID-19 cases worldwide has moved past 13 million, with – at time of typing – 574,977 known individuals having succumbed to the virus.

It is suspected in some nations, the true number of deaths is actually much higher.

The USA remains the worst affected country with over 3.48 million infections having led to almost 140,000 deaths as of July 14th.

In recent days U.S. President Donald Trump was seen in a mask for the very first time after long lambasting the idea that masks may help in fighting the spread of the virus.

Tens of thousands of new infections were reported in the United States just yesterday.

On the global stage, the number of infections in other highly populated nations including Brazil and India is also continuing to rise.

1.9 million Brazilians are known to have contracted the virus, including the nation’s president, and almost 22,000 have died.

India, with the world’s second largest population is also approaching the one million mark in terms of infections, with almost 30,000 having already died of the virus.
