Commercial Energy Transition in Pakistan Gets Major Boost

XI’AN, China, Feb. 23, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — LONGi, one of the world’s leading solar technology companies, has announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with Reon Energy of Pakistan to supply a total of 70MWp of Hi-MO 5 540/545Wp modules for its project clusters in the country.

The project owner is a leading, although unnamed cement group in the company, and it is understood the 70MWp project will be divided into 4-5 ground-mounted clusters at its different production sites.

It is expected to be the largest commercial PV application in Pakistan to date upon completion when complete – the project is provisionally scheduled to commence operations from the third quarter of 2021.

Reon Energy will perform all the initial EPC for the projects with the  company having extensive experience in solar projects, and as one of just a few companies able to build large-scale solar facilities for industries throughout Pakistan.

After carefully evaluation and analysis, Reon Energy chose LONGi’s Hi-MO 5 series which represents the highest module efficiency and reliability at present in the nation.

In addition, when comparing with other options available on the market, the Hi-MO5 series can reduce over $0.01/Wp in BOS costs and thus save nearly 5% on project land usage, maximizing its overall EPC margin.
