BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Launch Set For October 15th

Hyderabad: The long-awaited BMW India flagship launch is finally here.

BMW India has commenced the pre-launch bookings for the first-ever BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe.

As an early-bird benefit, the car can be booked online at BMW India’s website for INR 50,000.

The official launch of the 2 Series Gran Coupe is scheduled for October 15th. The BMW 2 Gran Series Coupe will be launched in two variants – Sportline and M Sport.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe brings the German automaker’s successful four-door coupe concept into this segment for the first time. The company says that the deliveries of the car will be done on a first-come-first-served basis.

Salient features

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that will provide 190 hp along with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.  There will be a petrol-powered version of the 2 Series too, but that is for the future.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Sportline trim gets 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, ‘Illuminated Berlin’ interior trim and the choice between five exterior paint shades.

The M Sport trim, meanwhile, gets 18-inch alloys, ‘Illuminated Boston’ interior trim and the choice of six exterior colours.  As is the case with all M Sport models, the 2 Series Gran Coupe M Sport gets a number of M-specific tweaks inside and out.

Sporty pedals

Outside, it features an M Sport body kit with sportier bumpers and side aprons, ‘M’ badges on the front fenders, a chrome embellished front grille and gloss black trim around the windows.

Inside, it gets an M Sport steering wheel and sporty aluminium pedals.

Both, the Sportline and M Sport, feature digital dials and the option to choose between an all-black or a dual-tone beige-and-black interior scheme.

Early-bird offer Customers who avail themselves of the early-bird offer will also be getting complimentary Taj Experiences gift card worth Rs 50,000.

The gift card can be redeemed for multiple transactions on stays, holiday packages, dining, spa visits and other experiences across the luxurious properties in India.

Customers can choose from Taj, SeleQtions and Vivanta Hotels and Ama Stays & Trails.

From a competition point of view, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will be up against the Mercedes-Benz A-class sedan and the Audi A3 sedan in India.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe prices are expected to start at INR 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
