In the last year, during the racial unrest, a teenager has shot two men dead in Wisconsin. The court cleared out this shooting case. And Joe Biden, the president of the US, is furious about this decision of the court.
In a written statement, Joe Biden has expressed sadness towards the verdict. However, earlier, he said that he agreed to the jury’s decision.
An 18-year boy, Kyle Rittenhouse, sobbed when the law had discharged him over the shooting in Kenosha that took place on 25th August 2020.
Low-key protests were there over the trial’s outcome that has divided the nation.
Mr. Rittenhouse has also claimed that he has fatally shot 36-years old Joseph Rosenbaum and 26-years old Anthony Huber and injured 28-years old Gaige Grosskreutz. But he said that all he did was in self-defense.
All the men he shot were white. Thus, it relates to racism because the incident took place during the civil disorder over police brutality.
Mr. Rittenhouse was in Kenosha after the two nights of looting, rioting, and arson that took place when police ended up shooting a black man, Jacob Blake, 7 times in the back and left him partially paralyzed. This shooting case took place on 23rd August 2020.
The defense said that Mr. Rittenhouse was there in the Midwestern US city only for protecting his private property and had shot the men in self-defense.
According to the reports, Mr. Rosenbaum was acting erratically that night and tried to grab Rittenhouse’s gun and chase him. Thus, Mr. Rittenhouse shot him fatally.
Mr. Huber had struck Mr. Rittenhouse in the neck or head with a skateboard. Then, Mr. Rittenhouse has shot him.
Mr. Grosskreutz has also pointed his gun at Mr. Rittenhouse, who has shot his bicep out of no choice.
The defense attorney of Mr. Rittenhouse has said that “He wants to get on with his life”.
