Americans still view President Biden the same way after State of the Union address: Report

There is a common trend in the US that is not followed with as much passion anywhere around the world, and this is the popularity index that each President of the United States has at the time of his or her presidency. This is known as the approval rating in the US, and we must tell you that former US President Donald Trump’s approval rating was among the lowest in the last few decades. Talking about the approval rating, it is also worth noting that these ratings are taken repeatedly, especially after any event.

Talking about an event, the State of the Union address by US President Joe Biden was made last week, which is an annual address to the public and US congressmen and women about the government’s plans for the future and how they are going to tackle important issues. According to reports, it is seen that US President Biden’s approval rating did not get affected that much even after his State of the Union address, which tells you two things. One is that his followers have remained as it is and have not suddenly changed parties. The worrying part, however, is that he has not increased his followers, which means that the people in America still view him in the same way as they did before the address.

In a new poll published regarding President Biden’s State of the Union address, 46 percent of respondents disagreed with the statement that Biden has kept his promises during his 2020 campaign, while 39 percent of those surveyed agreed that Biden has kept his promises. Also, 53 Americans think Biden did not do an excellent job handling the government, whereas 44% of Americans think he did a good job.

While the sample size of this survey is too small, as only 2009 respondents participated in the survey, it is still a worrying trend that Americans are divided right in the middle regarding the approval of President Biden’s handling of the job. Also, one of the most significant factors contributing to the lower approval ratings of President Biden’s handling of the job is his decision to withdraw America’s army from Afghanistan, which is a decision criticized by the public to this day.
